What is FLL?

Since 1998 FLL has been established all over the world for children and youngsters. FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) has been developed as a cooperational project of LEGO Company and the foundation FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) in 1998 in the USA.
Dean Kamen the founder of FIRST and initiator of the first LEGO League in the USA outlines the establishment of FIRST and LEGO League as follows: "We have to show our children that it can be more interesting to create a robot than just to play with it."

What is RoboCup?

RoboCupJunior is a project-oriented educational initiative that sponsors local, regional and international robotic events for young students. It is designed to introduce RoboCup to primary and secondary school children, as well as undergraduates who do not have the resources to get involved in the senior leagues yet. The focus of the Junior league is on education. The tournament offers to the participants the chance to take part in international exchange programs and to share the experience of meeting peers from abroad. There are 3 categories: Soccer, Dance, Rescue.
The Talent
UM Team prefers the Rescue category. In this competition robots identify victims within re-created disaster scenarios, varying in complexity from line-following on a flat surface to negotiating paths through obstacles on uneven terrain.
